Ayurveda is India’s timeless traditional system of medicine. Although developed more than 5000 years ago, it is based on fundamental, unchanging laws of nature and so remains as relevant today as ever before.
Ayurveda is more than a medical system, it is a ‘science of life’, teaching principles and practices that help us live a life of greater depth, health and happiness. Food is at the very heart of this journey.
Ayurveda teaches us to choose, prepare, eat and relate to our food in a way that makes it more deeply nourishing to our body, mind & spirit.
Join us at Open Table Cooking School for fabulous winter-themed workshop where we will explore the possibilities of vegetarian Ayurvedic cuisine and all that it can offer to build and maintain health in the colder months.
Dishes prepared at this workshop are mainly lacto-vegetarian (meaning strictly vegetarian using dairy but no eggs).
In this class, we’ll create 5-6 dishes using kitchen herbs and spices to nourish the whole body and whole family. No matter what your constitution, these meals are for everyone.
The mindset in which we prepare our food, the quality of our ingredients, the quantity we eat, the season and climate in which we are living, and many more aspects of Ayurvedic nutrition will be explored on the day.
